Security for a small cost
Store all your important documents, small items, and heirlooms in a safe deposit box. A safe deposit box also has the advantage of being separate from your home. As a result, items that may be necessary if your home were destroyed by fire, flood, etc., can be stored and retrieved from your safe deposit box. Rio Grande has boxes available at our Downtown, Rio Bravo, Westside, and Cabezon branch locations.
Safe deposit boxes are convenient, safe places to store important items like:
- Documents, like insurance policies, vehicle titles, deeds, and stock certificates
- Family records like birth, marriage, and death certificates
- Fine jewelry or other valuables (if they are insured)
- Items that are part of collections, such as rare coins or stamps
- Photos or videos of your home's contents for insurance purposes
Things you may not want to store in a safe deposit box
If you need immediate access to items, or if someone else will need access, don't store them in your safe deposit box. These items include:
- Cash
- Passport
- Original copy of your will
- Durable Power of Attorney
- Advance Directives for health care
- Spare keys
